ACE COMBAT Squadron Leader
The Ace Combat military aircraft series has spanned across from the PSone to the PS2 and without failing to keep the excitement levels and progressive development high. This new chapter again injects an emotional, human factor instead of a mere wild shooting spree in the sky. In the Arcade mode you get to do several smaller missions that is a kick, but the Campaign segment gives you the more elaborate and enjoyable story mode. This more intensive section takes place in fictitious countries where a 15-year old war seems to be rearing its head again as peace is threatened. It is 2010. The airborne peacekeepers based on an island are attacked by an unknown enemy while on a routine flight. Your entire squad was almost destroyed and those remaining (including a talented girl) have to take on this new threat. The control operations demand good flying skills (which you can brush up on in the Tutorial). From intercepting targets without firing to full-on combat situations, they take you through your aviation paces, sparing nothing. Constant radio control adds new directives and keeps you in check, but you can also rebel as you answer your commander. The ground and ocean detail is stepped up a more realistic notch. A stylish, exciting trip.
