THE PUNISHER
Frank Castle, the avenging comic book character who got the movie once-over with Dolph Lundgren over a decade ago was recently cinematically revisited with Thomas Jane in the lead, and Travolta as the crime lord who killed his family. The violent rampage to get self-styled bloody justice for his family's annihilation includes bare hands, high power weapons and even a wood chipper! Weapons in the armoury range from pistols, revolvers, shotguns and sniper rifles, to flame throwers, machine guns, grenades and bazookas. The villain interrogation gauge is quite cool as you can beat, choke or threaten guys until they crack and give you info - but if you push it too far you'll kill them and get nothing. While it's no less than brutal violence justified by vengeance / payback / retribution and the fact that these guys are all scum of the earth, it will be fun for most who can handle it, but offensive to others. The violence is further expanded by going into Slaughter Mode. The character resembles neither Dolph nor Tom, and you get quite a cheesy tough cop-style voice over. Extras include loads of comic covers, concept art, flashbacks, cheats and movies to unlock. Also includes the recent movie trailer. The dramatic and moody cinematic soundtrack adds to the dingy tone of grimy crime holes and death by your hands as the bodies pile up in your progress towards the man responsible for your woes - not to be dealt justice, but punishment!
