SHREK Superslam
This animated madness is independent of the successful movies and sends the crazy characters into familiar and new Far Far Away locations to kick some wrestle-style butt. From the green Shrek, blabbermouth Donkey, Gingerbread Man, and double personality Princess Fiona, to Pinocchio, Humpty Dumpty, Red Riding Hood, Puss In Boots, Black Knight and poncey Prince Charming, there is no shortage of characters to choose from, each with their own loony techniques and special moves. Besides fighting, you can also hide, the environmental obstacles counting against you or in your favour. Story Mode takes you through 8 fairy tales, Mega Challenge allows the unlocking of stuff, while Melee is a 2 minute set of bone cracking psychosis. The 7 arenas cover spots like Dragon’s Gate, Kung Fu Dojo, Gepetto’s Workshop, and Medieval Chef, with 9 to unlock. As with TV wrestling, I’m not so sure what effect it has on the youngsters and their aggression levels (as if bullying rates in schools aren’t high enough…) But as usual, it is up to the parents to research and be aware of the entertainment with which they supply their children.
