III Soulcalibur III takes the Tekken fighting style and drives it a step further, incorporating epic swordplay battle in a close quarters fighting scenario. The series revolves around the Soul Edge sword with a life of its own, feeding on the souls of those slain by it. In this fantasy world the sword also possesses those who wield it. Several game modes include one-on-one fights, Tales Of Souls (where each of a dozen characters fight through their stories. World Competition, Soul Arena, and Chronicles Of The Sword (which adds a war strategy portion) further expand the reach of its diversity.
