KILLZONE 2

The first Killzone game was exclusive to the PlayStation 2. Killzone: Liberation made its splash (or splatter!) on the PSP, with this installment designed exclusively for the PS3.

The original game took you on a first-person-shooter ride beyond our realm, to a time of space colonization where you battled the forces of an aggressive regime, the mutated Helghast. There you were in control of Capt. Templar of the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA) - in this chapter (now a colonel), he is still present but behind the scenes, as you take command of special forces vet Sgt. Thomas Sevchenko.

With great detail this game lets rip with serious firepower and realism as the ISA attacks the Helghans on their home turf – not a straight-forward mission as you may expect, tasked to capture Visari (the Helghan leader).

You can get the hang of the controls or go on a less in-depth stint in Skirmish mode. Campaign mode throws many an obstacle in your way (from difficult terrain to a relentless enemy set to shoot the shit out of you), in attempting to ensure Visari’s capture. Warzone takes you on-line for multi-player mayhem.

The blend of vicious military action and alien / sci-fi elements go all the way in both violence and language, hence its age restriction of 18.

Fans of Halo will really get into it, while anyone prone to head for games with intense firepower action will get a serious kick out of Killzone 2.
