Up

UP

The Disney-Pixar digitally animated 3D movie UP is an amazing experience for the entire family. It has crazy adventure, humour, fantastic artistry, but also a very heartfelt story. Carl had plans for great adventure with his wife, but time passed them by and Ellie passed on, turning Carl into a bitter, lonely old man.

With the city developing around his house, Carl says “stuff it”, and concocts a hair-brained scheme to fly his house to Paradise Falls, the adventurous South American dream destination he and Ellie aimed for.
How does he plan to do this? With thousands of helium filled balloons! But someone accidentally came along for the ride, Russell, a young inept Wilderness Explorer.

This game takes a good stab at replicating this experience, throwing Carl and Russell straight into Paradise Falls in a platform style game, alternating between them when necessary, and co-operating when it's essential. Traversing obstacles and collecting (or whacking) coins, bugs and butterflies are only part of the action as the narrative has them hooking up with Dug the goofy dog and Kevin the weird bird, ultimately leading towards the adventurer gone nuts, Charles Muntz and his pack of talking dogs.

Many extras can be unlocked to further expand the fun, especially for the younger players.
And no, unfortunately the game is not in real 3D...
