WWE LEGENDS OF WRESTLEMANIA As with football games, there seems to be far too many wrestling titles out there, the only real difference being the specific characters and their (somewhat) unique styles (be it scoring a goal or slam-dunking an opponent). What makes this one a whole lot different is its focus on the WWF (now WWE) Wrestlemania highlights from its heyday of its inception in the mid-‘80s and through the ‘90s, featuring its legendary superstars. Some of them include Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Sgt. Slaughter, Animal, The Rock, The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Bret “Hitman” Hart, King Kong Bundy and dozens more. From the (mostly) flabby guts, mullets and bad outfits to the intro song time capsules, it’s all here. In addition to footage of memorable moments from 1985-1999 (in and outside the ring), Tour Mode allows you to relive, rewrite or redefine classic matches with specific objectives or altering the original outcome. A variety of matches can be tackled in Exhibition mode, while creating your own superstar can sometimes be the highlight. When it comes to this phenomenon the essential built-in soap opera component of bitter rivalry is often beyond hilarious and downright stupid. When all of these guys were current, many would’ve found them a ludicrous spectacle, but given time, everything from tacky fashion to outdated music becomes history and is appreciated more so for its retro splendour than its actual merits.
