VIVA
PINATA
–
Trouble
In
Paradise
For those who thought the first installment of this game was a waste of time, it was obviously popular enough for a 2nd outing.
The
piñata phenomenon
is
not
very
common
here
in
South
Africa.
The
South
American
festive
practice
involves
a
dangling
paper-shaped
animal
filled
with
sweets,
and
participants
(usually
blindfolded
kids)
whack
at
it
to
expose
the
treats
inside.
The
previous
Viva
Piñata release
of
racing
and
whacking
piñata is
further
expanded
with
a
wide
range
of
character-
and
location
driven
scenarios.
On
Piñata Island
you
get
to
tend
your
garden,
practice
landscaping
skills,
collect
and
train
Piñatas,
build
them
houses,
and
even
romance
same
species
to
raise
new
born
Piñata!
This
incorporates
Maze
mini-games.
Of
course
there
are
nasty
Piñatas out
to
mess
up
your
garden
–
chill
them
out
with
sweets
or
tame
them.
The
biggest
grump
of
them
all
is
Professor
Pester
(and
his
gang),
who
wants
all
the
candy
for
himself.
He
also
happened
to
delete
the
Piñata database
–
that’s
why
you
need
to
raise
new
ones
with
specific
requirements,
fill
them
with
candy
and
send
them
off
to
parties
around
the
world.
You
have
to
go
out
and
acquire
Pinatas
for
your
garden
–
trapping
them
in
either
the
Pinarctic
or
Dessert
Desert,
or
entice
ones
wandering
around
your
garden
to
stay.
Of
course
there
is
candy
collection
as
well
as
fights.
Weeds
can
cause
havoc
and
your
Pinatas
can
fall
ill
or
get
injured
–
the
medics
called
in.
Races
&
beauty
contests
can
be
held
with
your
fellow
gardeners.
Local
shops
can
be
frequented,
and
you
can
share
and
trade
on-line,
as
well
as
acquire
helpers
to
keep
your
garden
shipshape.
With
your
game
you’re
supplied
with
a
special
card
-
if
you
have
an
X
Box
Live
Vision
Camera,
hold
it
up
to
the
camera
while
on-line
–
the
encoded
content
will
transfer
to
your
game
(and
give
you
a
rare
Piñata,
supply
boost-,
weather-
or
terrain
change,
new
looks
etc.).
You
can
also
take
snapshots.
It’s
wild,
it’s
colourful,
it’s
surprisingly
entertaining
–
and
probably
one
of
the
most
involved
Tamagochi-style
pet
games
around.
