BAD

–
The
Abattoir
Blues
Tour
This
tastefully
packaged
4
disc
set
covering
The
Abattoir
Blues
Tour
consists
of
a
double
DVD
and
double
CD.
The
two
DVDs
contain
the
live
performance
in
London
at
the
Brixton
Academy,
as
well
as
the
Hammersmith
Apollo.
The
total
of
20+
songs
naturally
cover
the
main
cuts
from
the
twin
album
Abattoir
Blues
/
The
Lyre
Of
Orpheus,
but
also
a
couple
of
essentials
and
favourites.
The
performance
is
the
key
and
you
get
very
little
gimmicks
and
flash
accessories
like
huge
video
projections
or
pyrotechnics.
So,
songs
like
Hiding
All
Away,
Easy
Money,
The
Lyre
Of
Orpheus,
Nature
Boy,
Get
Ready
For
Love,
Carry
Me,
God
Is
In
The
House,
Red
Right
Hand,
The
Ship
Song,
Stagger
Lee,
Wonderful
Life,
Nobody’s
Baby
Now,
Bring
It
On,
Sad
Waters,
Watching
Alice,
and
Wild
World
all
flow
with
an
intense
honesty.
The
soulful
backing
singers
enhance
on
many
levels,
while
one
of
the
few
disappointments
is
the
absence
of
the
Bad
Seeds’
guitar
pillar
(and
Einstürtzende
Neubauten
kingpin)
Blixa
Bargeld.
He
can
however
be
seen
in
some
of
the
bonus
video
clips,
including
ones
from
the
previous
Nocturama
album
-
the
dancehall
booty
dancing
video
for
Bring
It
On
and
the
full
(near
20
minute)
version
of
Babe,
I’m
On
Fire
(with
all
of
the
Bad
Seeds
dropping
their
inhibitions
and
acting
the
fool
in
a
wide
array
of
costumes).
In
addition
there
is
a
short
documentary
on
the
creation
of
the
Abbatoir
Blues
album
and
making
of
Bring
It
On.
The
CDs
contain
live
recordings
from
Dusseldorf,
Manchester,
Copenhagen,
Paris,
Munich,
Lausanne,
Milan,
Amsterdam,
and
Hamburg.
This
is
where
you’ll
find
songs
like
Let
The
Bells
Ring,
The
Weeping
Song,
Deanna,
and
Breathless.
This
is
one
incredible
alternative
release.
