DONKEY XOTE

With original Spanish voices by Andreu Buenafuente, David Fernández, Sonia Ferrer, José Luis Gil

Directed by Jose Pozo

One of the best known Spanish literary tales of all time, Don Quixote, gets an animated make-over from the country of its origin with a continuation of his adventures.
It is told from Rucio’s point of view, the donkey of Don Quixote’s “squire” Sancho Panza, who ventured out on an adventure of knightly chivalry and bravery (taking on windmills mistaken as monsters!). Here Quixote gets duped into traveling to a duel to win his love (but there are numerous men claiming to be the real Don Quixote). With his horse a bit of a sissy, Rucio gets the opportunity to save the day.
Well executed and lacking that overt Disney glitz.
