BLINK 182 - Take Off Your Pants and Jacket

Taking the world by storm with their Enema Of The State, this punky little trio is pretty much as obnoxious, crude and daft as when they started out (even before their breakthrough album). With porn goddess Janine Lindemulder absent from this release (the gal on Enema's cover), they can stand their ground without this particular visual element. The symbol / primary colour design is plain, straight & eye catching, almost trendy - hardly punk. But the songs still get to the point relatively quickly and deal with all the usual party-time, pissed-off and adolescent issues, loves & hates. One track in particular, Happy Holidays You Bastard is an hilarious 42 second tirade that has to be played more than once. Radio hits like The Rock Show and others may have less profanity than the aforementioned, but still has the attitude and basic riffs that that make their punk very pop. The sing-along chouruses are all over the place and in its entirety, the album bulges with robustness and a carefree air which has the ultimately laughing all the way to the bank - even more so if they come up with another snazzy video & get high VH-1 & MTV rotation, getting more kids hooked to their new offering.
