THE FAMILY VALUES TOUR 2001

This is the 3rd in the
Family Values series - the 1st being the biggest showcase with Korn, Limp Bizkit, Ice Cube (later replaced by Incubus), Orgy and Rammstein. It also spawned a great video of the event, Rammstein stealing the show. This new tour features The Stone Temple Pilots, giving the crowd their best rock performance while Linkin Park's metal-hip-hop-pop hybrid is extremely effective and listenable. Static-X never fails with their straightforward punching attitude of mere single-riffed songs, gravel vocals and occasional keyboard touches - still, they know how to rock. The more acoustically driven, inflicted style of Staind makes up the more commercial side of this hard rock fest while Deadsy constitutes the freaky "other side", which Rammstein fulfilled on the 1st tour. Aaron Lewis from Staind also pops up on his own and as a guest with Linkin Park and a Deadsy member with Static-X. All a big, happy family. Produced by Josh Abraham, this album does not exactly match its pioneer, but is a good reflection of the kind of hard music of the time.
