GORILLAZ - G-Sides

With their take on a B-sides release, the
Gorillaz offer up some re-mixes, new bits, as well as a couple of videos. The animated character image of the band and the great videos are exactly what set them apart from the other stale acts around. A gimmick, maybe, but one hell of an effective one, even though it gets represented as more rough & tough than it actually is. 19-2000 receives a Soulchild remix, Left Hand the Suzuki Method and Clint Eastwood a Phi Life Cypher version, all maintaining the Gorillaz essence, though. Hip Albatross contains audio clips from the classic George A. Romero zombie movies Day Of The Dead & Dawn Of The Dead! The PC viewable videos (if you have the limited required system) include the tremendous animated clips for their signature song, Clint Eastwood as well as happy-go-lucky Rock The House. In some respects a few of the tracks get a darker dimension, as opposed to the usual hype-e-fied route taken by re-mixes.
