JOE COCKER

The unmistakable gravely voice of
Joe Cocker had been pretty silent of late. But even if he never releases another album, at least there is a wealth of fine recordings that can be enjoyed over & over again. This compilation kicks of with the well known Up Where We Belong (duet with Jennifer Warnes for the soundtrack tune to An Officer And A Gentleman). Joe was never a pretty boy and his voice is hardly that of an angel - he made quite an impact when he appeared at the original Woodstock Festival alongside the likes of Jimmy Hendrix, The Who, Joan Baez and other greats of the late 60s. His conveyance of passionate emotion with his signature voice however captivated millions (and still does). Some other marvelous tunes include Many Rivers To Cross, Sandpaper Cadillac, Cry Me A River and Something. And not to forget With A Little Help From My Friends and You Are So Beautiful.
