THE MOODY BLUES

To most people
The Moody Blues personify one thing and one thing only - Knights In White Satin. An epic song filled with passion and powerful orchestral integration. These guys (who are far from calling it quits) emerged in the early 60's (!). This collection however covers songs of more and lesser impact through the period of 1967-1991. Quite a career chunk. Even though many of their ballads are a bit soppy, the progressive rock mystique of The Moody Blues, which peaked in the 70s, still exists today - they still have a store, Threshold, which was part of a whole chain they had in the 70s! Even if you skip through the 16 preceding tracks to get to the climactic Knights In White Satin, it's still one timeless track making the disc a keeper and them rock icons (of a more subtle range).
