Yep, ol' Rockin' Rod! This collection focusses more on his early triumphs,
getting things started with his lasting tune Maggie May. Playing
with several high profile acts before going solo, Rod was destined to
become a star. His R&B and bluesy rock flavour lasted a good couple of
decades (since the 60s) and he even made an impact in the garish 80s,
his hairdo never letting up, marrying sexy models and all that. And to
think he wanted to become a footie player! Besides tunes like You Wear
It Well, Handbags and Gladrags, Sweet Little Rock 'n Roller and Mandolin
Wind he does a male cover version of (You Make Me Feel Like ) A
Natural Woman and also Twisting The Night Away. Rod had definitely
left his mark on rock history and this selection is a fine reflection
on early work.
