These British rock & rollers came together in the early 60's and are still
at it! Their trademark bouncy R&R riffs and the voice of Francis Rossi
spawned many a classic like Whatever You Want and What You Proposing.
Another 13 tracks on this compilation wrap up a fine compendium of what
they're all about. Their first hit, a more hippyfied 60's tune, Pictures
Of Matchstick Men is not however present here. Fun, lighthearted rock
music that middle aged fogies get quite a kick out of, Status
Quo is also known
as Prince Charles' favourite band (eeek!). Does that make him more hip,
or them more nerdy (?). Still, quite a few memories trapped in here, even
though one of their biggest anthems, Rockin' All Over The World
was omitted from this disc, as is their cover version of You're In
The Army Now.
