PJ HARVEY - Uh Huh Her
One girl's passion is another's depression. PJ Harvey has been
accused of both. Whether you believe one, the other or both, there's no
denying that the lady surely knows how to express herself. Her inimitable
style can waver between soft and introspective, stripped down deliveries
(like Pocket Knife) and abrasive alternative rock (Who The Fuck?).
You needn't be suicidal to enjoy a PJ Harvey album, some very touching
songs to be found here. Her fragile strength and terrific imperfections
is only a piece of what sets her apart from the rest. She's an unconventional
woman who says what she feels and not what she thinks the world wants
to hear, as all artists should - not prescribed like a record company
commodity. That's why she'd collaborate with someone like Nick Cave
instead of Ricky Martin. The sleeve contains self-portrait photographs.
