A PERFECT CIRCLE - emotive

Directly flowing out of the US armed involvement in the Middle East (and the world's general spiral into chaos), the outspoken
Perfect Circle clan decided to release an album of cover versions with peace slants. Some unexpected songs surface here, amazingly executed. There's everything from the fantastic rendition of John Lennon's Imagine, Marvin Gaye's What's Going On to Joni Mitchell's Fiddle And The Drum, and Depeche Mode's People Are People. Besides Peace Love & Understanding and Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie, they've included a few originals as well (Passive and Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm Of The War Drums). Some of the videos can be seen on the DVD release aMOTION. While many of us hoped that A Perfect Circle didn't mean the end of Tool, the succession of releases seems to indicate the worst. But, this can be seen as an extension of Tool with the key players still inhabiting the same creative minds to produce amazing, uncompromising rock music.
