PESTROY - Counter Attack
This Gauteng based new school metal quintet is building quite a following.
Their Rap-Metalcore style flows from the American Nu-Metal movement, but
they give it their own thrust. A steady, hard approach and energetic burst
is where it's at with the boys even getting close to a ballad with tracks
like Aim To Please. Effects-laden, heavy guitars, snappy drumming
and rapid-fire vocals make up the Pestroy recipe. The 15 catchy
songs on this, their second album features a few guests - Hanu from The
Narrow (on Re-Lie In Truth) and Andrew from 16 Stitch
(on Categories). Two of the tracks are remixes, the title tune
getting reworked by DJ Redwood and Proof, remixed by DJ Cyberaeon.
The disc also contains a cool video to the track Killswitch and
a studio tour. Cape Town audiences can see them on these shores in October
