QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE - Songs For The Deaf

With commercial radio leaving a lot to be desired, it seems as if the
Queens Of The Stone Age is implying that it's better not to hear any of it. With fake radio DJs interjecting the tracks, the Queens used fellow musical candidates like Twiggy Ramirez (Marilyn Manson), C-Minus, Dave Catching, Casey Chaos (Amen), Blag Dahlia and Chris Goss. As I looked at the cover I thought the one guy looks uncannily like Dave Grohl (you know, Nirvana drummer / Foo Fighters frontman). Lo and behold, it is! Helping out on drums, he even pops into the video of the first single, the bouncy & narcotic No One Knows. The bass guitar prominent album rolls like a well tended engine, the often simple but ultra catchy riffs and melodies fooling you into thinking it's far less than it actually is. Crafty. Their snide sense of humour makes its appearance on a regular basis. Songs For The Deaf will easily become many rock fans' album of the year. The "hidden tracks" are hardly hidden, as they are listed as just that!
