SCOOTER - Mind The Gap

Some would feel this is trance-house hardcore dance experience, others will see it as Euro-Yobbo dance music. Regardless, the techno dance sounds of this trio still hovers below the really intense Hardcore out there. This is not the kind of Hardcore you might think, no hard guitars and screaming vocals, but trance/house techno moods and beats with distorted vocals not too concerned with singing, rather chanting in the Scooter cheerleader fashion. Always Hardcore is taken from
Neophyte (whose hardcore is way more intense than that of Scooter), which is in return a rip of Pearl Jam's Alive chorus. Shake That! utilizes the '70 dance classic Shake Your Booty and All I Wanna Do uses Sheryl Crow's tune as chorus. The Avenger's Back includes elements from another old favourite, Knock On Wood. A cover version of Depeche Mode's Stripped is not too bad, the vocalist actually singing - it's a very cool song that's hard to stuff up - but have you heard Rammstein's amazing rendition?. Elvis Crespo's Suavemente also gets reappraised. Instrumentals include Trance-Atlantic. There are the sillier tunes like Panties Wanted, requesting rocker chicks to throw their bras & panties onto the stage (!). As usual the lyrics are hardly poetic, earth shattering or world-changing. Disc one includes two bonus tracks and a multi-media portion with a video and photo gallery. The second disc is a 13 track live recording from their 2004 We Like It Loud Tour (including tracks like Maria, Weekend!, Friends, Break It Up, Frequent Traveller and Hyper Hyper).
