SEETHER
- Disclaimer
A lot has happened since the Gauteng trio (formerly known as Saron
Gas)
struck a big US deal and head across the ocean to lay down their tracks
in New York City. For one, their drummer got replaced and an extra guitarist
stepped into the fray - the latter especially handy when they play those
big shows. Songs like 69 Tea and Gasoline will be quite
familiar to old Saron
Gas
(and new Seether)
fans, getting the crafty production makeover by Jay Baumgardner. The lads
stand up admirably beside bands carved from the same hard rock. In a post-Nirvana
world, the ripple effect of the band's influential tentacles can be felt
around the globe and even if in an indirect sense, the Seether
phenomenon utilizes the best it offered, making their own mark. It is
also a joy to see a local band's filmed-in-35mm music video blend in with
the rest of the world's artists. Congratulations, guys.
