UNDERCOVER - Various

A collection like this was an inevitability. Many younger people who don't really find it necessary to discover older music often think some of the songs they hear are originals when in fact they were sampled, stolen and covered, not always offering up an improvement. This collection contains 22 modern dance cover versions of classic songs as well as the not so distant past.
DJ Sammy has used many a sample of popular songs, but here his version of The Mamas & The Papas California Dreaming allows a whole new generation to experience at least part of the original's greatness. 89ers do Lord Creator's Kingston Town (also covered by UB40). Milk Inc. takes on A-Ha's The Sun Always Shines On TV while B80 tries Video Killed The Radio Star. C+C Music Factory's Make U Sweat is remodeled by Oliver Moldan who retains a lot of its original flavour. A movie related tune comes from Murphy Brown vs. Captain Hollywood with Harold Faltermeyer's Axel F, used in Beverly Hills Cop. Club Robbers mutilate The White Stripes while K-Line is hard pressed to improve upon Deee-Lite's Groove Is In The Heart, as is the case with DJ Alligator (& Dr Alban) with I Like To Move It. Other covers come from ATB (Seal), R&M, The Party Boys, Wakkos (Michael Jackson) and Boogie Pimps who steal a drug drenched speech from Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas with the Jefferson Starship tune Somebody To Love - a downer as opposed to the drugs listed!
