ANGELS & AIRWAVES – We Don’t Need To Whisper

Tom DeLonge, the whineier of the two
Blink-182 vocalists offer up his other musical vent in the shape of Angel & Airwaves. For the most part this is just an e-DeLonge-ated expansion of Blink’s more “serious” lovelorn, floor-gazing, emotional expulsions. The songs are by no means bad or unlistenable, but tend to follow the same flow, with Tom’s drawn out last words to each line getting to you if you haven’t gotten used to it in Blink. With more electronic infusions, for the most part it is aimed at the girls, and this is very much the flipside to the under 20 male audience that made him a millionaire in Blink-182. A bonus live track further expounds the U2 and Mike & The Mechanics flavoured delayed guitars that keep filtering through.
