DAY TURNS NIGHT - Fallen Legacy

Hailing from Cape Town's Helderberg area, this debut album by Day Turns Night does not evoke images of their tranquil surroundings, but in stead offer the listener an explosive punch of Metal flavours, expertly executed by a dedicated group of young musicians. In many respects (as is often the case with young bands) a lot of what you get is a combination of current bands the members admire, which can sometimes hamper in the establishment of an own identity. The band put in loads of work with months of pre-production, tracking the songs themselves (with guitarist Sarge manning the desk) - and what makes this more exceptional is the great sound production due to the band's decision to ship their tracks abroad to be mixed and mastered by Zach Ohren.
This album may very well have set the current standard which Metal bands from South Africa will have to surpass, or at the very least, match, as it's on par with any import.
