there

no traces
of Death
Metal…
That’s
apparently
where
they
got
their
name
- someone
remarking
that
they
sound
like
The
Eagles
Of Death
Metal.
Fun,
sleazy
and
comical
in many
respects,
this
party
project
from
Queens
Of the
Stone
Age
vocalist/guitarist
Josh
Homme
(here
also
on drums)
pair
up with
his
side-kick
Jesse
Hughes.
Teenage
fantasies
and
reminiscence
flow
forth
like
a summer
of jogger
shorts
at the
water
slide.
This
in no
way
a serious
endeavour,
but
rather
a tongue
in cheek
mess-around
(that
actually
sound
a whole
lot
better
than
much
of the
so-called
serious
music
out
there!).
They
throw
in anything
from
Rolling
Stones
style,
old
school
rock
&
roll,
even
gospel-blues,
bluegrass
country
flavours
and
a whole
lot
of ‘70s
rock
style
and
swagger.
A lot
of hip
to be
square,
handlebar
moutache,
semi-white
trash,
lamb
chop
sideburn
trucker
attitude.
They’re
kind
of like
a cooler
Corne’
&
Twakkie
with
some
musical
talent.
