JACK JOHNSON - In Between Dreams

The soft acoustic edges of the drifting music produced by Jack Johnson are not that of marshmallows, but in stead a warm ocean breeze. Johnson's music does not translate the highly energetic part of his surfing lifestyle, but rather the in between moments, like watching and scoping the waves, or a fireside at sundown. Lyrically Jack makes it flow easily, avoiding the obvious, even across the expanse of radio friendly, love-related tracks like Sitting, Wishing, Waiting, to injecting some substance like a critical look at the state of television on a track like Good People. As with his previous recordings, this was done in Hawaii and again you can feel how in tune he is, not only with the place (without adopting or stealing it's musical flavour), but nature as a whole. An irresistible audio balm.
