JUDAS PRIEST - Angel Of Retribution

Some classic Hard Rock and Metal vocal configurations were simply meant to be. Vince Neil returned to
Mötley Crüe, Bruce Dickinson to Iron Maiden, and the better for it. After years of waiting, rabid Judas Priest fans were screaming for this moment - where vocalist supremo Rob Halford again coupled with the guitar fury of K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton to show the youngsters what real Heavy Metal should sound like. With brilliantly executed old-school flavours in tact (as well as unavoidably cheesy lyrical moments), it sounds as if the paths of these Metal Gods were never parted. Some would balk at the comparison, but Priest without Rob is like The Stones without Mick. While the old boys have the history and legendary status, I'd like to see Mr. Jagger hit the intense high notes and display the vocal control of Mr. Halford, who is also coming on in years I must add. Hardcore Priest fans will not be disappointed, while new kids unaware of classic albums like Sad Wings Of Destiny, British Steel, Screaming For Vengeance, Painkiller and Ram It Down will hopefully get hooked onto this new release and seek out the band's catalogue and get blown away.
