KORN - See You On The Other Side

When a band brings out a Best Of or Greatest Hits collection, you wonder if that's it, or think it may be a while before they come up with something new. Often it is a matter of contractual obligation when an artist moves on to another label. In this case
Korn's relationship with their previous label was signed off with their Greatest Hits Vol. 1, as they slipped over to EMI. They didn't waste much time to give their fans the latest taste, and it's nothing less than what their supporters would expect. It's Korn from start to finish, guitars tuned so low you hear the strings dangling and vocalist Jonathan Davis working his trademark bagpipes into the thumping mix. These days a music video can easily make or break a song, whether it's a good tune or not. But here the video to the first plug-track, Twisted Transistor is a minor stroke of genius with the entire band substituted by rap big hitters like Snoop Dogg and Xibit, the actual band members playing asshole record execs, taking a punch at their old label.
