THE ROLLING STONES - Live Licks

Some would wonder how these old-timer rockers are still performing live, never mind walk! Living dinosaurs, musical legends, rock gods, icons - call them what you like, the fact remains that these guys can still rock with the best of them (some would consider them the best, full stop). While they will more than likely start settling down soon, that's hard to comprehend, as this is what they've lived for since the 1960s. If (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Brown Sugar, Paint It Black, Angie, You Can't Always Get What You Want and Gimme Shelter were not included, this would be no live
Stones release at all. The double disc splits up the eras, the older better known favourites on disc one and less obvious tunes and other people's work (like BB King) on the second. Those songs include Rock Me Baby, Monkey Man, The Nearness Of You and Beast Of Burdon. There's only one Rolling Stones and for these OAP's to still pull off hundreds of shows to millions of fans on the Licks 2002/03 World Tour makes them far from over the hill, and even when it wavers, it's still irresistibly cool. I am interested to see how many younger people actually get into the Stones, whether via their parents' old records or by hearing an album like this with songs from decades back recorded by the same guys who wrote it (in stead of a tacky dance cover version by some guy and his PC).
