SLIPKNOT - 9.0: Live

With three great albums of sheer intensity and extreme technical power behind them,
Slipknot opted to deliver a double live album instead of a generic Best Of. But then we all know that they don't exactly do things in half measures (from the size of the band and their outrageous masks and stage show, to the breakneck speed of many songs). The live environment is also the place where these guys really explode. If you've got the Disasterpieces DVD, this audio recording could have less impact (due to the intense visual nature of the band), but that show didn't feature songs of the Chapter 3 album. On this album the two dozen tracks captures that live energy and ferocity everyone has come to expect from a band that gives 110% on stage, and this is a testimony to their fans that stood by them through thick and thin, making their existence possible. The live recordings weren't subjected to much post-production tweaking and cheating, and you're also treated to a drum solo from Joey. If you like your music light and crispy, don't bother picking up this monster.
