STONESOUR – Come What (ever) May

To most people the names of Corey Taylor and James Root won’t mean too much – but to Slipknot fans they make up the voice and one of the guitars of this potent band.
Like Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison’s Murderdolls project, Taylor and Root’s other love is Stonesour. Less extreme than their main endeavour, but no less effective as an impacting audio force, Stonesour follows a more rock oriented path - yet not in the conventional way you may imagine. They manage to make a song catchy while still being powerful. Sillyworld has touches of Pink Floyd while the tracks Reborn and Through Glass can also be found in a live state on the 2007 Family Values Tour album (and DVD).
We should see more bands like this not only nominated for Grammy Awards, but winning them.
