TINA TURNER - Tina: The Platinum Collection

This triple disc collection assembles the most prominent songs popularized by living legend Tina Turner across about 4 decades (with and without her bastard husband Ike). The four dozen tracks pack in some real classics. The Ike affiliated songs include Nutbush City Limits (plus its '90s version), I Want To Take You Higher, and their versions of the Creedence track Proud Mary, and The Beatles' Come Together, and Get Back. her big independent breakout tracks from the '80s include What's Love Got To Do With It, Private Dancer, and The Best. There is also Al Green's Let's Stay Together, another Beatles cut (Help!), and Albert Hammond tunes Be Tender With Me Baby, Love Thing and Way Of The World. Collaborations come with David Bowie (Tonight), Bryan Adams (It's Only Love), Eric Clapton (Tearing Us Apart), Rod Stewart (It Takes Two), and Eros Ramazotti (Cose Della Vita). Other tracks include Steamy Windows, Two People, Break Every Rule, I Don't Wanna Fight, Missing You, and In Your Wildest Dreams.
You also get Tina's live version of Robert Palmer's Addicted To Love, and her movie songs, Goldeneye (from the 007 movie), The Acid Queen (from The Who's Tommy, featuring her in a cameo role), and We Don't Need Another Hero (from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome - also starring opposite Mel Gibson).
With her leggy dancing, shaggy blonde wigs, red lipstick and that unmistakable voice, Tina has been ingrained in modern music history, not only for her resilience when bouncing back from leaving her abusive husband and musical partner, but also because of the success she's had with many an unforgettable song.
