TRANSFORMERS – The Album

Based on the popular kids' TV show (and toys), big budget spectacle director Michael Bay has brought the franchise to the live-action big screen, with a lot of help from the digital FX department(!).
While it would've been cool if the soundtrack matched the gigantic robots with some serious Heavy Metal, it takes the shape of more accessible hard rock. The more impacting tracks come from Linkin Park, Disturbed, and Smashing Pumpkins, while the songs by HIM, and The Used is not to be sniffed at. You also get the Goo Goo Dolls, Styles Of Beyond, and Julien-K. A third of the soundtrack album's songs don't actually appear in the movie, and include Taking Back Sunday, Armor For Sleep, Idiot Pilot, and Mutemath. If you want the full-on film score by Steve Jablonksy, you'll have to look elsewhere.
