TWILIGHT - Motion Picture Soundtrack

Muse, Linkin Park and Collective Soul make up the bigger names of this soundtrack consisting of a dozen tracks, mostly with hard rock roots. Paramore's brand of female-fronted commercially viable rock also works very well, contributing two tracks (one more catchy, the other more punchy). Mutemath condenses both a high-energy rhythm with somewhat trippy and smooth vocals. The acoustic edge and reverb drenched production of The Black Ghosts deliver a near-ethereal soundscape which fits the movie wonderfully. Blue Foundation goes for the minimalist impact with a slow-burning rise. Iron & Wine utilize the same method. Lead vampire Rob Pattinson can actually sing and also contributed a cut of straight forward vocals and acoustic guitar. Another track along these lines (but with some more instrumentation) come from Iron & Wine. A legendary rock personality who cannot be forgotten is Perry Farrell (of Jane's Addiction), with a somewhat electronically flavoured rock cut. The only “soundtrack” element per se, is Carter Burwell's lovely orchestral piece of music for Bella's Lullaby, with a piano taking the lead.
