His
colleague
is an
Iranian
whose
father
is finally
being
naturalized.
A green
card
official
uses
his
influence
to his
own
gratification
by promising
an aspiring
Australian
actress
a permit
(if
she
plays
along).
A young
non-practicing
Jew
tries
to scam
his
way
into
having
the
powers-that-be
believe
he is
devoted
in his
faith
and
an asset
to the
school
where
he's
clinging
on to
a job.
A human
rights

the

struggling

All
of these
frays
criss-cross

naturally,

too
coincidentally

forced.
But,
as far
as dramas
of this
nature
goes,
Crossing
Over
is well
worth
watching.
