Most
of us
had
seen
the
reality
TV video
footage
of the
idiot
who
decided
it’s
a bright
idea
to tie
a bunch
of helium
balloons
to a
deckchair
with
him
in it!
This
quaint
little
Australian
movie
is based
on this
moronic
act,
but
taken
beyond
this
silly
event.
Danny
is a
construction
worker
whose
holiday
is ruined
by his
girlfriend
Trudy’s
wandering
eye.
A normal
bloke,
Danny
is just
not
high
society
enough
for
the
real
estate
agent
Trudy
who
makes
use
of flirting
time
with
a TV
presenter
looking
at property.
Bored
and
climbing
the
walls
when
he could
be camping,
Danny
gets
a not
so bright
idea.
At a
weekend
barbecue
he ties
a bunch
of helium
balloons
to a
deckchair,
just
to see
if it’ll
take
off.
Unfortunately
it does
take
off,
but
a bit
too
much,
and
he’s
whisked
off
into
the
sky.
A storm
blows
him
far
over
the
lovely
small
town
of Clarence,
where
he crash
lands
in Glenda’s
backyard.
While
the
people
back
home
and
the
media
are
in a
frantic
search
for
him,
he finds
the
opportunity
to recreate
himself
in a
place
where
he feels
way
more
at home
than
his
mundane
life
which
seems
a distant
memory.
Funny,
sweet
and
great
fun
to watch.
You’ll
know
Ifans
from
many
a quirky
British
comedy
and
Otto
from
Lord
Of The
Rings.
