For
some
reason
it took
this
movie
a while
to reach
South
Africa.
Based
on actual
events,
it takes
a strangely
surreal,
even
black
comedic
angle
of journalists
working
in the
deadly
war
torn
Bosnia.
A tragic
incident
had
the
war
correspondent
Simon
Hunt
crack
on camera.
After
this,
he and
his
cameraman
Duck
part
ways,
until
they
meet
up again
half
a decade
later
in the
year
2000.
Simon
has
info
on the
whereabouts
of the
man
responsible
for
the
Bosnian
genocide,
known
as The
Fox
(a fat
reward
on his
head).
But,
somehow
it seems
that
everyone
knows
where
he is,
even
the
UN,
but
no-one,
even
the
CIA
seems
to act
upon
bringing
this
animal
to justice.
Relegated
to doing
second
rate
inserts
for
obscure
channels,
Simon
feels
he has
nothing
to lose,
his
recklessness
going
beyond
deep
trouble
and
skimming
deadly.
Benjamin,
son
of one
of the
network
vice-presidents
goes
along
for
the
ride,
and
what
they
enter
into
is an
extremely
dangerous
trip
which
can
cost
them
their
lives.
Soon
shocking
secrets
get
exposed
as they
get
closer
to the
man
who
caused
the
death
of thousands.
While
it will
fit
snuggly
with
war-time
journalist
movies
like
Salvador,
War
Zone
and
Under
Fire,
The
Hunting
Party's
dark
comedic
twist
shifts
it into
a bit
of different
direction.
The
closing
credits
reveal
some
stranger
than
fiction
facts
from
the
movie
and
the
actual
incidents.
A documentary
on the
actual
characters
would've
been
great
as an
extra
feature.
