an impact
with
My Big
Fat
Greek
Wedding,
but
fat
is no
longer
part
of the
package
as this
extremely
trimmed
down
lady
wrote,
directed
and
stars
in another
romantic
comedy
(in
one
scene
showing
her
new
slim
wares
- albeit
hardly
explicitly).
John
Corbett,
her
beau
from
Greek
Wedding
also
joins
her
again
as the
love
interest.
Here
she
plays
a carefree
woman
running
a florist,
happily
promoting
all
kinds
of celebrations,
including
Valentine's
Day
- however,
she
does
not
subscribe
to the
sentiment.
She
believes
there
is no
such
thing
as a
long
term
relationship
with
real
romance,
and
when
dating,
does
so according
to her
own
rules
which
means
a few
great
dates,
then
calling
it quits
while
everything
is perfect.
That
is of
course
until
she
meets
a new
guy
who
opens
a Tapas
bar
on the
same
street...
For
the
most
part
this
movie
does
not
divert
from
the
rom-com
valley-peak
recipe
of joy
/ sorrow
/ reconciliation
/ fulfillment,
but
will
be just
what
the
doctor
ordered
for
a bunch
of girlfriends
looking
for
just
that.
