MAGIC MAN

With Billy Zane, Robert Davi, Alexander Nevsky, Estelle Raskin, Armand Assante

Written by George Saunders, Brent Huff, Michael S. Feinstein
Directed by Roscoe Lever

What starts out sounding pretty interesting and mysterious, turns out rather slow, stale and uneventful. With nothing quite as spectacular as David Blaine illusions or an astounding movie like The Prestige, this comes across as promising more than it delivers.
A trio of girlfriends (one with a penchant for illusions) head out to Vegas to catch a highly acclaimed performer. One of the friends turn up dead and more murders follow, the Magic Man in question seeming to be involved in one way or another. With a few cops also on the case (one a Russian), this does little to enhance the relatively bland narrative.
