NOMAD The Warrior

With Jay Hernandez, Kuno Becker, Jason Scott Lee, Mark Dacascos, Doskhan Zholzhaksynov, Ayanat Ksenbai, Dilnaz Akhmadieva, Ashir Chokubayev

Written by Rustam Ibragimbekov
Directed by Sergei Bodrov & Ivan Passer

Set in the 18th century, this film looks at the historic shaping of Kazakhstan on the plains and grasslands, where three opposing tribes had been entwined in war. But a young man rises to unite them into one nation.
Like Attila The Hun, this is not exactly the kind of movie that gets me excited, but the filmmakers make a good job of it with a love story naturally integrated amid the power struggles and battles.
