Directed

This
must
be one
of the
dumber
Sandler
vehicles
to date
–
OK,
they’re
all
pretty
dumb,
but
occasionally
he hits
a charming
one
like
The
Wedding
Singer
(or
gets
involved
with
a rare
gem
like
P.T.
Anderson’s
Punch
Drunk
Love).
In this
case
two
firemen
pretend
to be
a gay
couple
and
have
to get
married.
The
reason
for
this
is Larry
(a single
father)
fears
that
if something
happens
to him
in his
dangerous
line
of work,
his
kids
won’t
be taken
care
for
- so
the
domestic
partnership
benefits
will
provide
for
them.
And
having
saved
Chuck’s
life,
he him
and
can’t
refuse
–
but
he goes
into
it with
less
than
enthusiasm.
Chuck
is a
total
womanizer
and
suddenly
has
to act
like
he is
in love
with
his
fat
hairy
pal.
A sneaky
government
official
tries
to bust
their
charade,
while
Chuck
falls
for
their
hot
lawyer.
Naturally
this
leads
to many
bad
taste
jokes
and
stupid
situations,
with
an unconvincing
moral
tagged
on.
I’m
sure
most
gay
people
and
firemen
will
find
this
pretty
offensive
–
but
I guess
that’s
what
comedy
has
become...
Deleted
scenes,
outtakes,
behind-the-scenes
looks
and
interviews
make
up the
bulk
of the
extra
features.
