SEINFELD Season 5

With Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards
Directed by Tom Cherones

Another Emmy Award winning season available on DVD. You get all 22 episodes with a stack of extra features.
Some of the classic episodes of the season (which sees an unemployed George moving back to his parents house) include The Mango (with the subject of faking orgasms), The Puffy Shirt (with the low talker), The Masseuse (where Jerry can’t get a massage from his masseuse girlfriend), The Sniffing Accountant (with Kramer’s smoking-while-downing-a-beer scene), The Non Fat Yogurt (in two versions with mayor Giulianni and the losing candidate), The Barber (with Jerry feeling like he’s cheating on his lifetime barber when he tries to get it from a better one – all in the style of The Barber of Seville), The Marine Biologist (where another bullshit career lie - and Kramer’s odd golfing habits - places George in yet another classic predicament), The Hamptons (has George in a flux when he’s walked in on after swimming in a cold pool, sighting “shrinkage” as the culprit), The Raincoats (in two hilarious parts, incorporating both Jerry and George’s parents), The Bris (with Kramer shunning the practice of circumcision), The Glasses (where Elaine is bit by a dog and George buys a pair of ladies’ frames), The Opposite (in which George decides to act contrary in every way, since nothing has ever worked out in his usual mode – resulting in him landing his dream job with the New York Yankees!), as well as The Fire, The Wife, The Stall, The Pie, The Stand-In and more.
The 13 hours of extra features include the usual Inside Looks, deleted scenes, on-screen production notes and details, commentaries, bloopers, promos and trailers, and Master Of His Domain (additional stand-up routines by Jerry Seinfeld). An extra bit of documentary inside scoop includes Jason + Larry = George – looking at how Jason Alexander’s character of George Costanza is based on Seinfeld co-creator Larry David and all of his wacky neuroses and stranger than fiction real life experiences that find its way into the story lines. These extras include interviews with all of the actors, as well as writers, director, network execs and more.
This is also the last series featuring director Tom Cherones.
