SEINFELD Season 6

With Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards
Directed by Andy Ackerman

The storylines simply do not dry up or wane in its hilarious madness, and as usual is not focused on a single plot, but incorporates all of the four leads. Of the 24 episodes on 4 discs expect the unforgettable likes of The Couch (includes everything from an abortion debate, a Kramer pizza venture and peeing on Jerry’s couch), The Pledge Drive (has Jerry hosting a telethon and Elaine experiences her odd new boss’s habits), The Doodle (Jerry has fleas in his apartment and George is freaked out by his girlfriend’s doodle of him), The Fusilli Jerry (Kramer makes figurines of his friends with pasta, accidentally receives the vanity plates “Assman”, and his male bra venture with George’s dad Frank is threatened), The Doorman (features the actor initially in the running for George’s role), The Jimmy (has a twit referring to himself in the third person and Jerry suspects his dentist may be a pervert), The Understudy (features Bette Midler), and there’s also The Big Salad, The Race, The Chinese Woman, The Gymnast, The Soup, The Kiss Hello and a bunch more. There is also a highlight episode collecting memorable scenes from the first 100 episodes.
This series saw the debut of director Andy Ackerman, replacing the 5 series veteran Tom Cherones.
Extras include the Inside Look featurettes on selected episodes, commentaries, Notes About Nothing, deleted scenes, bloopers, additional Seinfeld standup routines, and the two part featurette Running With The Egg. There is usually more mileage in the writers’ commentaries – when Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards do a commentary it gets a bit annoying as they seem to be watching the episodes again, not adding much more.
This season also introduces another extra feature, Sein-Imation, selected scenes reinterpreted as black & white line drawn animation sequences - fun stuff.
