SEINFELD Season 9

With Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards

Directed by Andy Ackerman

It is quite a sad prospect that this is the last Seinfeld season...
Never again will we encounter the foursome of Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer in their New York setting with their quirks and ludicrous analysis of daily life – but, at least we have hundreds of shows to fall back on by revisiting them on DVD. To pick a single season to buy would be difficult as it works as a holistic comedy experience, so you’ll just have to get the whole bunch.
Larry David was called back in to put his touch on the extended final episode where dozens of characters from the past got called in for appearances as they testify in court against Jerry and his pals.
The 24 shows of the final season features the innovative Backwards Episode (and you get the option to watch it in its chronological order); Elaine’s boss, the classic J. Peterman is also back (having flipped out and gone AWOL in Season 8); Kramer shaves with butter; George’s dad sells computers; Kramer picks up the old set of the Merv Griffin show and rebuilds it in his apartment; George gets a new job; Jerry buys a new car from Elaine’s on-off boyfriend Puddy (another excellent guest character; George buys the Frogger arcade game from the pizza spot they frequented as kids; Jerry dates a maid; it’s an endless stream of classic American TV comedy and as usual, hilarious. Extras include a look back at the best bits, a retrospective round table discussion with the key players, a documentary on the final outing, and of course loads of outtakes, bloopers, deleted scenes, Sein-mation, commentary tracks, and Notes About Nothing.
