With the exception of Terminator 3, this was one of the last true Arnie vehicles. It is the future and cloning has become a reality with practical applications (limited to the replacing of your beloved pets that passed on). But, there are sinister workings afoot where it is being applied to human beings. Family man Adam lands smack bang in the middle of this combustible situation which is ready to blow with a conspiracy at its core. With an interesting futuristic look and the expected big budget action, this is nothing less than one would expect Schwarzenegger to be attracted to (also acting as one of the producers).
Special make-up FX master Rob Bottin (The Thing / RoboCop / Total Recall) supplied some very cool moments, from half-cloned humans to eerily life-like talking robotic dolls.
South African born Trevor Rabin has become quite a high profile soundtrack composer, and on the DVD version of The 6th Day you get a commentary track by him. This in fact makes the DVD more feature-packed than this HD disc, offering only the same featurettes, animartics and storyboard comparisons.
