Lad
is by
far
the
best
extreme
musical
entity
to blast
forth
from
Canada.
My first
encounter
with
Devon
Townsend
(the
nutter
at the
helm
of this
locomotive)
was
as vocalist
for
guitar
genius
Steve
Vai.
But
there
was
more
brewing
underneath
this
young
man
than
a phenomenal
voice.
Following
his
heart
and
love
for
extreme
music,
he opted
to apply
his
talent
to expanding
the
boundaries
of the
Metal
genre
as opposed
to singing
commercially
successful
pop
songs
(which
he can
do with
one
tonsil
tied
behind
his
eye).
From
the
get-go
Townsend
threw
convention
out
the
window
with
a barrage
of killer
tracks
jumping
from
one
to the
other.
Still
brilliant
a dozen
years
later
(in
2007).
